Director of Financial Affairs, Division of Student Affairs
With over 15 years of experience in accounting and finance, Sharmaine brings a wealth of expertise in financial management, analysis, and operations to her role as Director of Financial Affairs at The College of New Jersey. A strategic leader, she is responsible for overseeing the financial and operational functions within the Division of Student Affairs, providing leadership and direction to multiple departments, including Auxiliary Services, Athletics, Dean of Students, and Student Development.
In addition to her leadership in finance, Sharmaine is passionate about operational excellence. She works closely with senior leadership to design financial models, streamline processes, and implement new systems that enhance operational efficiency and align with the University’s long-term goals. A natural problem solver, she is adept at identifying financial shortfalls and developing strategies to eliminate them without compromising on the University’s core objectives.
When she’s not leading financial strategy on campus, Sharmaine is a dedicated mom of two adults, an enthusiastic cook, and an advocate for balancing work with personal passion. Whether she’s crunching numbers or whipping up her latest culinary creation, Sharmaine brings positivity and a great smile to everything she does, making her a valued leader at TCNJ.
Sharmaine holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus in Finance from Rider University. Her experience spans a wide range of roles in both higher education and corporate finance, equipping her with the knowledge and skills to drive impactful change at The College of New Jersey.
