Application and Nomination Guidelines and Definitions:
Prior to applying or nominating someone for a Student Affairs Scholarship, readers should review these guidelines, which apply to individual awards. Individual Award Guidelines
1. Individual applicants must have a minimum Grade Point Average of 2.50 (unless an alternative GPA is specified), be in good college standing at the time of application, and be in good college standing at the time of the award ceremony. Good college standing shall be defined as without a student conduct status of pending termination of housing, removal from housing, pending suspension, suspension, or expulsion. The following awards have a special GPA requirement that must be met: Harold Eickhoff Student Award (3.0 GPA), Dorthy Taylor Haas ’32 Fund (3.0 GPA), and William M. Klepper Scholarship (3.0 GPA).
2. Individual undergraduate applicants must be full-time students at the time of application and be, at the time of the award, enrolled in a minimum of 3 course units per semester. Individual graduate applicants must be enrolled in a graduate degree-seeking program, or a post-baccalaureate or post-masters certificate program. Graduate students must be enrolled in a minimum of 1 course unit at the time of application, and a minimum of 1 course unit at the time of the award.
3. Class standing is defined as: First year students are defined as having earned between 0.00–7.75 earned course units; sophomores are defined as having between 8.00–15.75 earned course units; juniors will have earned 16.0- 23.75 earned course units; and seniors are defined as any student with 24.0+ earned course units.
4. Several scholarships and awards are financial need-based. Individual student eligibility for awards and scholarships will be determined by information previously submitted to the Office of Student Financial Assistance. Students who receive financial assistance and are applying for a scholarship or award should work with the Office of Student Financial Assistance to determine how this may affect their financial aid package.
